WHEN GOOD ISN'T GOOD ENOUGH

"And he brought them out and said, "Sirs, what must I do to be saved?" Acts 16: 30

There is a misconception in the streets that if you are good enough, you are saved.
"You don't need to worry about my soul,"  they say. "I am not perfect, but I am a pretty good person. I pay my taxes, I give to the poor and I would never hurt anyone. Ever. I'm good, and that is enough."

I am sorry, but I still worry about your soul. Why? Because this is one of the times that being good just isn't good enough. This is because sin is more than what we do or fail to do, and the salvation of our soul is not in what we do, but what Christ did.

The thing is, sin isn't  merely "anything God hates." Sin means separation from God, and the fact is, man has been separated from God since the fall of man (the very moment Adam ate that forbidden fruit! ugh).

I went to the eye clinic the other day to get my eyes checked, and they asked to know the health history of my family members. The reason for that is, if someone in the family has/had Glaucoma, for example, it meant that I too may have a risk of getting it. In this case, welp, because Adam sinned, WE ALL sinned. Simply put, we inherited sin from Adam. So, essentially, you don't need to do anything to sin, you only need to be born.

See why being good isn't good enough?

To be saved, you need to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ (Acts 16:31). Really, it's that simple. It is only the blood of Jesus that can wash away that inherited sin imputed to us through Adam. Only HIS blood is enough. Not our blood, and not our good deeds either.

If you are reading this and you are banking on your good deeds to save you. I am sorry, it won't. Being good can get us far in this world, but to get into the Kingdom of God, it is not the key. It is not the way. Only Jesus is. Please accept Him into your life today.

Prayer for Salvation:
Dear Lord, I know that I am a sinner. I turn away from my sins today and ask for your forgiveness. I believe you are the son of God and you died and resurrected to take away my sin. I need you, and so, I invite you into my heart today. Amen.

Now, you are saved! Welcome to the family of God :)
