"If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved." Romans 10: 9
When I was in the world, I had so much fun!
I have heard a couple of Christians say this, and quite frankly, I have never been comfortable with that statement.
Now that you are a Christian, are you saying your life is no longer fun?
As a baby Christian then, I started wondering, so, is that all there is to this Christian life?
I felt that if those who are saved could look back at their lives before they encountered Christ and still desire what they had, then something was definitely wrong. Perhaps they too are wondering, is that all there is to this new life?
"Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ." (Philippians 3:8 I implore you to read the entire chapter.)
Like Paul, I want to be so full in Christ that I have no care for anything outside of Him. I want to be in Christ and be satisfied! I don't want to look at people in the world and think, wow, I could be out there enjoying my life too.
If you are having that thought now, it means you are not yet enjoying your walk with God.
If each time you face challenges, you wonder, what is the point of being saved? It means something is missing.
David said in Psalms 34:8, Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good!
Have you really tasted and seen that the Lord is indeed good?
When the apostles were imprisoned and beaten, they rejoiced that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for Jesus's name (Acts 5:41). Wow, just wow. That is what it means to really enjoy God. To enjoy the blessings and also rejoice in the suffering for His name. Now, that is what I want.
Do you want that too? If yes, then I implore you to join me as I study the Bible. Get to really know God. Get to know who He is and what He expects from you. Like I mentioned last week, being saved is only the beginning. You need to go deeper to get more.
In conclusion, I guess the message I really want to pass across is that, as a Christian, your life doesn’t have to be boring or miserable. You are not called to live a mundane life. The key is to seek God more, to fall deeper in love with Him, and to come to a deeper understanding of who you are in Christ and what your purpose in His kingdom is.
"You make known to me the path of life; in your presence, there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore." Psalm 16:11.

ReplyDeleteI really like the end. I’ve seen this true in my life. The deeper you fall in love with Jesus, the blurrier other things become. That’s when you realize that things that you used to really be in love with don’t even mean anything to you anymore. That really is the key. Thanks for this Crushie!
