LET GO AND LET GOD

Cast all your anxieties on Him because He cares for you- I Peter 5:7

"Let go and Let God." My friend said to me at the end of our hundredth conversation regarding the same matter.

"Yes, Yes, I know. I have." I said.

My friend being the sweetest human she is did not argue with me. She did not remind me that that was my response the last time and the time before that.

In my weak defense, the truth is, each time I said I have let go, I honestly did let go (um, in a way). The Let God part is just where I sometimes have teeny weeny trouble.

It's absolutely ridiculous when I think about it...how fast I run back to take the weight I had just let go of.

Why do I do that?

Why do we do that? (I know it isn't just me!)

Regardless of why we do it, today, I will share some scriptures as a reminder to us that the only way to get that peace of mind we so crave, that answer/solution we so desperately need, we MUST let go and let God handle it. It is easier said than done (boy, don't I know it!), but it is the only way. So, we must endeavor to do so.

As we meditate on these scriptures and solicit the help of the Holy Spirit, I believe it will become easier to resist the pull of the flesh to want to control our lives and outcomes. The goal is to really get to know God and to trust him even more, knowing that our lives, our plans, everything is safer in HIS hands.

Cast all your anxieties on Him because He cares for you- I Peter 5:7

The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace- Exodus 14:14

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope- Jeremiah 29:11

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus- Philippians 4:6-7

He says, "Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth." - Psalms 46:10

  1. Most times, when I discuss with friends, we conclude that one of our biggest challenges as believers is trusting God. If only we truly and wholly trust God, all our cares are over.

This is why we are reminded that we are humans though. Always wanting to 'be a man/strong woman'.

I pray God strengthens us more and help us grow in His knowledge to understand that He has everything concerning us in total, absolute control.

    Thanks for sharing.
