"While the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, winter and summer, and day and night shall not cease". Genesis 8: 22
This is the word the Lord pressed in my heart to share today. The Lord wants me to encourage you today to hang tight! If you have just been planted, or maybe you have done the planting, hang tight. Do not be anxious while you wait for the harvest. You may feel like the seedtime is going on forever and you have watered, yet no increase. Hang tight. The bible does not give us a timeline for each season, but what it does assure us is that harvest will surely come. Like the children of Israel, you might be in the wilderness, running out of hope, heavy with despair and thirsting for new beginnings, hang tight! Unlike you and I who now have the privilege of knowing how the story ends (spoiler alert: the Promised Land was not a lie and indeed flowed with milk and honey!), the Israelites did not know this and murmured their way through the wilderness. You and I know better now. Thanks be to God. So we do not have to murmur our way through the wilderness like the Israelites. We have the proof of God’s faithfulness by reading through the stories of the people of old and if we are honest, the testimonies of our life to date will undoubtedly reaffirm God’s faithfulness. There is truly a promised land ahead. While going through winter seasons in our lives, seeing the dead leaves and naked trees, battling with flu and cold sores, we easily forget a time would come when the sun will shine again causing the flowers to bloom, and the trees to come alive. The Lord is saying to you today, remember the summer days that have past, thank him now, because they will come again. The sun will shine upon you again and you will feel His warmth. Let that realization fill you with hope. The winter is not going to last forever. It is only for a season. Soon the quiet, frigid, and eerie nights would be replaced by the happy songs of birds in the summertime. Though it may seem long, wait for it. Let the Joy of the Lord be your strength. Be of good cheer. Get yourself ready for the summer harvest. It is at hand! For those who are currently, in their season of summer, harvest, and daytime, I celebrate with you. As you sing psalms and rejoice, a friendly reminder to begin slowly to gather woods for the cold winter, fill your lamps with oil for the night time, and let your storehouse be full of seedlings for the planting season is near. A friendly reminder to all- the planting season, the winter, and the nighttime is not there to break, harass or torment you. The Lord needs you to know that you go through these seasons to be molded, to be refined. It is all for a purpose. Do you trust Him? Do you trust His purpose for your life that it is good? If you do, hang tight friends 😊 It is all worth it in the end. Related Scriptures- Ecc 3:1-8, Isaiah 48:10, I Peter 1:6-7, Psalms 66:10, Psalms 126:5-6, Psalms 30:5
